Veridian Civil War
Summary
Triggered by the invasion of the Donari Monastery at Lemelin as a central government response to alleged treachery by the Temple and the alleged traitor, Captain Lindly. The attack was strongly rebuked by most of Veridia, though only the Duchy of Isanter responded with a material military alliance with the Temple. Jaromir of Embor all but declared independence from the Central government, but did not intervene in the war. Terenor of Rimorgue did not support attacking the Temple, but saw the situation as a political opportunity to destory Lothair of Isanter, his primary rival. Spearheaded by the forces under the command of Captain Lindly and Exemplar Diana, the West made rapid and early gains in the war, routing the much larger Eastern army and seizing Fort Eureeka. However, a massive and well-timed Eastern counter-attack trapped the core Western army and decisively ended the war with one devastating battle that annihilated the Western forces.
