The Obsidian Plate Armor is an Epic artifact in Symphony of War. It is a powerful defensive artifact granting a sizeable boost to MHP and ARM at the cost of a reasonable amount of SKL, thus making units less likely to dodge, critical hit or having glancing blows. Due to this penalty, it can be wise to pair the Obsidian Plate Armor with the Cloak of Cunning, Genbu Shell Fragment, or Unscathed to minimize/eliminate the possibility of being critical hit.
Another option is pairing it with artifacts which increase skill significantly, such as Puffin Feather Amulet, Shinobi Gi, Shadowchaser Boots or Balmung
