Effect: Always attack first when defending. Does not work when Ambushed. Only works 3 times per phase.
Strategies
The Temporal Modulator is the ultimate in counter-attacking artifacts allowing your squad to strike first as if you had initiated the combat when the enemy attacks your squad. It is great to use on powerful defensive squads that will be in the line of fire, but also deal a fair amount of damage.
Since the benefits are in defensive combat, the Temporal Modulator works very well with the Black Belt artifact and/or Counterattack trait to boost the damage done in these combats significantly.
Note that this artifact will skyrocket the threat rating of your squad, making it in general less likely to be attacked. To be able to use this artifact effectively, you need to know how to place your squads in the battlefield.
