Classes (SoW1)

In Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga, the class system determines for units many properties they have when they are deployed on the field for combat. This involves statistics, such as armor and weapon score, along having a large influence on the development of maximum hp, strength, magic and skill. This is also influenced by level (only positive) and the affinity the unit has. Some traits are also determined by the class itself and for each unit, there are two trait slots which can be assigned, by using trait books. The class of each unit has a role on the type of squad it becomes.

The class tier determines how developed the class is, with the lowest tier having the least developed abilities in general and tier 4, in general the most developed abilities. Development of an unit is determined by experience points and class points. The first increases the level and improves a few statistics every time a new level is gained. Class points determines when the unit is being able to change class or when at the highest class, the unit is egilible for using a Proof of Merit on.

Unit type and squad

When it comes to squads, there are six types of units:

  • Slow infantry, these are mages and healers. This squad type is removed with the Mage Regiments technology.
  • Heavy infantry or normal infantry, consisting of units wearing heavy armor.
  • Light infantry, making use of light armor or mix of light/heavy armor.
  • Heavy cavalry or normal cavalry, riding on horseback and wearing heavy armor.
  • Light infantry, riding on horseback and making use of light armor or mixed versions.
  • Flying units, with the only flying units being the dragon riders.
