The Sentinel is a Melee tier 3 infantry unit in Symphony of War is the ultimate in physical defensive heavy infantry. They are the only unit with both Guardian and Polearm Warrior traits making them the best defensive unit against all physical attackers. They also have decrease damage from enemy firearms. It only rivals with the Paladin regarding defensive capabilities.
Regarding trait combinations, the following things can be done:
- Traits like Resolve, Unscathed, Bodyguard and Pacifist are great to improve the defenses.
- Imposing can be used to draw attacks away from other units.
- Challenger and Concentration are good to improve their offense.
- Warrior's Hubris is also very useful for counteracting their main weakness against magic damage. This can be combined with a Water Affinity.
